I am behind on my blog. It is so hard to keep up when you are out of town! Anyway, here is a post about what we did a couple days ago...
The first day we got here, my mom and I were waiting for my dad to get home from work, so we took Kara out to the back yard to play. I love my parents' back yard for two reasons: one, our yard at home is all dirt and isn't much fun to play in (plus it is over-run by ants that bite you! I can't wait until we can own our own home), and two, my parents have lived here for 17 years, and most of the trees and vegetation in the back is starting to mature--so it is a beautiful and shady yard. One of the pear trees started producing little tiny pears this year! I thought that was pretty cool.
I showed Kara how to roll in the grass (even though I knew it would make me super itchy!), and we both had fun rolling around and chasing each other. Except for the moment that Kara decided to get upset and cry, but it only lasted for a moment and I don't even know what she got upset about. Maybe she just likes to fuss! Some may say it is payback, but I don't think that can be true because I was ALWAYS a perfect angel!
When my dad got home, he started working in the garden. See the patch of pumpkins he is growing for Kara? (Really, he is growing them for Kara!) I guess we will have to visit at Halloween!
Some of the peas he is growing were ready to be picked too, so Kara brought my dad a little bowl to put them in.
We tried to get Kara to eat some peas, but she won't eat almost anything green, and this is the reaction we got:
Stay tuned for some more trip photos tomorrow!

We've Taken a Little Trip
I know I haven't posted for a few days... Kara and I took a trip up to Colorado for a few weeks to stay with my parents. I love it here so much, and we have a lot of fun things planned!
I have a few posts full of pictures coming (maybe even later today)--so for all you friends/grandparents (especially grandparents) needing some pictures of my cutie pie, there will be some coming soon!

Dear Mom,
Every time I sit down to work on the project you asked me to finish...
The cat gets in my way...
And after I spend ten minutes trying to get him to stay off my sewing table (or off my lap),
I get distracted.
That is why it takes me forever to finish things. But I WILL finish your project on time, I promise.
Love,
Me.

Lazy Sunday Morning
I love Sundays, especially in the morning.
This morning, I listened to music, worked on some things I have been putting off, and Kara played (and sang). Even the cat had a good morning, lounging in the morning sun.

Giant Post About Kara
I have been feeling down in the dumps lately, so I haven't felt much like writing. I don't even know what I am feeling so blue about, but I am, so sorry for the lapse in blogging.
The one thing that is always great to blog about, though, is Kara! She LOVES to brush her hair. Every morning when I do her hair, I tell her that she is so pretty. She usually takes the comb from me, runs it through her hair, and tells me "pitty."
Well, today, she took one of my brushes, and she would not let go of it! She spent the day following everyone around the house--me, the cats, her dolls--trying to brush our hair, and then she would tell us that we were "pitty." It was so cute!
cute smile!
Chasing after the cat

In search of her next victim!
Kara loves shoes now that she is walking. If I don't put them on her in the morning, she usually tries to put them on, and brings them to me and says "doos (shoes)" so I will put them on for her. Then she runs off and plays with her big blue ball. (Balls are her FAVORITE toy).
Kara loves books as well. She sits and "reads" them all the time. The other day, I had to read a book 5 times in a row before she let me put it down!
She has also been saying so many words lately. I can't even remember them all, she says so many, but a favorite phrase of hers would probably be "yeah buddy," which she learned from my brother. She has also started saying two word sentences such as "my ball," or "daddy bye bye," or more often "no mommy," as well as a lot of other things. She is growing so fast!
