Pictures of the Baby's Room

We "decorated" the baby's room, so I thought I'd post some pictures. The decorating was really more just putting up stuff that I've made or received from family members. I made the 2 quilts in the pictures, along with the elephant stuffed animals and the baby booties.

Here's a picture of (one) of the elephants I've sewn and a pair of baby booties I've sewn:

Here's a picture of the crib with one of the quilts I've sewn. (I've made about 5 or 6 quilts over the last few months! Not all for me, of course!) I promise I'm not bragging, but I free-motion quilted the quilts by hand, so I was able to put all kinds of cute little designs in to the quilts. It was too hard to get a picture of the quilting, but I still think it's cute!

No News is Good News

I wish I could say differently, but there isn't really anything interesting to report on (again!)

I am still pregnant, and although I'll be 7 months pregnant on Sunday, I hardly look it. I really am pretty small--I look maybe 4 or 5 months pregnant (which causes EVERYBODY to ask me if everything is going ok), but everything is measuring just right for the baby, so I must just carry it all inside (my ribs and hips can attest to that!).

We are putting the Christmas tree up (finally) after swim practice tonight. I am excited to have all the Christmas decorations up around the house! I helped my brother put Christmas lights up at my Grandma's house on Sunday, and we had a lot of fun together. It's so fun to be getting in to the Christmas spirit!

And, as far as items of interest, that's about the most interesting thing that's happened lately (not that we don't do anything all day--we are, in fact, very busy. It's just nothing that anyone would want to hear about!)

24 Weeks

Here's a 24 week shot. The picture is a bit blurry, but you get the idea.

It's A...

...little baby! Last week, we had two doctor's appointments. The first one was with the midwife (everything looks great, and she still laughs at how active the baby is when she does the doppler to check the heartbeat. This week, he gave a super hard kick right at the doppler device!) The baby weighs 13 ounces.

The second appointment was our 20 week ultrasound appointment. We are definitely having this baby sometime during the first two weeks of March--the baby has measured twice now at a date 3 weeks later than we anticipated. The official due date is March 14th. Maybe we can have a baby on my Grandma's birthday!

Anyway, here are the pictures. We couldn't get a good profile shot because the baby kept moving around so much! Actually, we were really only able to get good pictures of feet and hands because he was so active! A couple times, the baby turned and looked right at us, and it really looked like a baby's face! Every time the baby looked at the screen, his mouth was opening and closing like he was "talking." It was pretty fun!

Homecoming

Homecoming was tonight, so here's a picture of the dress for those of you who wanted to see it... I modified the picture to protect my sister's privacy. Also, I forgot to bring my camera, so the pictures are somewhat grainy phone pictures. The dress looks so much better in person, but you guys get the idea... Also, it had some sparkles (which you can't see in the pictures).

Oh, and I thought my sister was the most beautiful girl I've ever seen :)
(She would like me to add that "it's too bad you can't see her").

It Happened Overnight...

It seems like just overnight, I started actually looking pregnant. It still depends a little bit on what shirt or pants I am wearing (I still have a few that hide my belly pretty well), but for the most part, I don't look so much fat anymore as I do pregnant. (My thighs and hips might disagree... Why is it that my thighs have to get bigger? Seriously, I workout, I eat right... so unfair!)

Also, please ignore the horrible hairdo. My hair has been getting so tangly and frizzy, I hardly know what to do with it! I've had curly hair my whole life, but this is the first time I've EVER had TANGLY curly hair--and it seems that no matter how much conditioner I wear, I can't get rid of the tangles!

Today was my Friday off, so I took to opportunity to... get a pedicure? Get a massage? Read a book?

Nope! I spent my whole day running around doing stuff for swim team! I have to say, I am SOOO excited for the season to start! I'm just praying and keeping my fingers crossed that this baby is born on its due date, or after. My due date is the day after State Championships--and the head coach has to be at every meet, or else the athletes at the meets are disqualified from swimming. I'm really worried that Baby K will decide to be a week, or worse, a day early. So, I'm praying really, REALLY hard that Baby K has just a little bit of patience. In the end though, I don't care what this baby decides--it's not coming out until swim season is good and over, and that's final!

New Post

Swing dancing was a BIG hit last night! All the girls thought that Bryan was so cool, and the kids all told Karina and Bryan that it was really, really fun. I could tell it was going well because even the boys had huge grins on their faces. They asked me if I would be willing to do another swing night, and I said "definitely"!

Today, we got to go have lunch with my Great Grandma Fran. I really enjoyed it, and I feel lucky to be one of the few people to have both my grandmas and 2 great grandmas still living. After lunch, we spent a few minutes over at her house talking... I would have loved to stay longer, but it was rest time for Grandma AND the little girl I watch! (Not to mention, I would have loved a rest myself!)

And lastly, here's a picture for those of you who have asked me for one. It's not much of a picture, I'm a pretty small pregnant lady (I think I look more fat than anything else), but there you have it:

First Appointment

I had my first prenatal appointment today, and everything went pretty well (other than the fact that it took 2 HOURS, and I had to give 2 urine samples... Seriously, how much can you go?!) Oh, and they must really like my blood, because I had to give 10 vials... Oh well, it goes to a good cause, I suppose. All this is making me appreciate my mom even more for putting up with all of this for 3 whole pregnancies! Who knew babies were so much work ;)

My doctor seems pretty nice, and she gave me a huge bag full of books, magazines, vitamins, some weird shake sample thing, and pamphlets. At least I'll have something interesting to read on the days when I don't feel like getting up off the couch! (Just kidding about the laying on the couch thing... kind of).

Anyway, everything looks good, and we will go back on August 25th for our next visit. Hopefully by then, I'll look a little cuter!
