Bug-Battle

I've been fighting this nasty bug all week. It is FINALLY starting to go away, but I'm still hanging on to the sore throat and the head congestion. It is DEFINITELY not fun!

Unfortunately, that also means I haven't done anything I've wanted to do all week! I didn't watch Bricen this week (although I'll be watching her today in just a little bit), and I have had hardly any time for sewing/chores. I've pretty much laid in bed all week, and our house is a DISASTER! I am not looking forward to Saturday afternoon when I have to clean it after the swim meet.

Anyway, that's all that's been going on at our house the last several days (other than anxiously awaiting pictures of our new niece!) I hope next week is much better!

34 Weeks and Counting

Here is a picture of me a few days ago, for those of you that would like to see how HUGE I've gotten to be! (My dad says I just eat too much cake :) )

Anyway, nothing else new and exciting. Jon got me pretty sick with some flu-bug, so I've spent the last 3 days feeling pretty icky, but the worst of it was today, so I'm hoping that means that I'll be all better by tomorrow morning! I had to cancel swim practice since I felt so awful, and a bunch of kids were worried that I had the baby--No baby yet!

Yesterday, even though I felt fluish, I went over to my mom's and sewed some baby stuff for my sister-in-law and for myself. Pretty soon, I'll be sewing for Jon's little sister as well because she is ALSO going to be having a baby later this year! I can't believe how many babies/pregnant women I keep seeing! It's insane!

And on that note, I have a feeling that 6 weeks (or less) is going to be here before I know it! We're excited, but we know we're in for some BIG changes around here!

Pictures of the Baby's Room

We "decorated" the baby's room, so I thought I'd post some pictures. The decorating was really more just putting up stuff that I've made or received from family members. I made the 2 quilts in the pictures, along with the elephant stuffed animals and the baby booties.

Here's a picture of (one) of the elephants I've sewn and a pair of baby booties I've sewn:

Room again:
Here's a picture of the crib with one of the quilts I've sewn. (I've made about 5 or 6 quilts over the last few months! Not all for me, of course!) I promise I'm not bragging, but I free-motion quilted the quilts by hand, so I was able to put all kinds of cute little designs in to the quilts. It was too hard to get a picture of the quilting, but I still think it's cute!

No News is Good News

I wish I could say differently, but there isn't really anything interesting to report on (again!)

I am still pregnant, and although I'll be 7 months pregnant on Sunday, I hardly look it. I really am pretty small--I look maybe 4 or 5 months pregnant (which causes EVERYBODY to ask me if everything is going ok), but everything is measuring just right for the baby, so I must just carry it all inside (my ribs and hips can attest to that!).

We are putting the Christmas tree up (finally) after swim practice tonight. I am excited to have all the Christmas decorations up around the house! I helped my brother put Christmas lights up at my Grandma's house on Sunday, and we had a lot of fun together. It's so fun to be getting in to the Christmas spirit!

And, as far as items of interest, that's about the most interesting thing that's happened lately (not that we don't do anything all day--we are, in fact, very busy. It's just nothing that anyone would want to hear about!)

24 Weeks

Here's a 24 week shot. The picture is a bit blurry, but you get the idea.

It's A...

...little baby! Last week, we had two doctor's appointments. The first one was with the midwife (everything looks great, and she still laughs at how active the baby is when she does the doppler to check the heartbeat. This week, he gave a super hard kick right at the doppler device!) The baby weighs 13 ounces.

The second appointment was our 20 week ultrasound appointment. We are definitely having this baby sometime during the first two weeks of March--the baby has measured twice now at a date 3 weeks later than we anticipated. The official due date is March 14th. Maybe we can have a baby on my Grandma's birthday!

Anyway, here are the pictures. We couldn't get a good profile shot because the baby kept moving around so much! Actually, we were really only able to get good pictures of feet and hands because he was so active! A couple times, the baby turned and looked right at us, and it really looked like a baby's face! Every time the baby looked at the screen, his mouth was opening and closing like he was "talking." It was pretty fun!
